Pisgah Energy installed solar panels on six buildings at the North Carolina airport

  • April 24, 2026
Pisgah Energy, a commercial solar contractor, completed the installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems across six buildings at the AAR fuselage facilities at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Guilford County, North Carolina.

Evan Becka, Senior Project Developer and President of Pisgah Energy, said, "We are honored to support AAR's efforts, which have a significant and positive impact on their carbon footprint. The highly engaged employees in Greensboro made the construction of what is arguably our largest project to date relatively straightforward." "More importantly, overall, these systems represent the largest rooftop solar installation in Guilford County. As a local Greensboro resident, it is truly gratifying that my company has contributed to achieving this milestone."

These systems, totaling 4.6 MWDC, consist of 7,770 QCells 590-W panels and 25 SolarEdge inverters, and will be used for on-site power generation, producing over 5,900 MWh of renewable energy annually. This is the largest completed solar project to date for Pegasus.

"Completing a large-scale commercial solar project at a busy airport is no easy task. The Pisgah Energy team tackled this challenge with innovative ideas, maximizing solar output on schedule and within budget. The solar panel system enables AAR to offset carbon emissions, power our facilities, and return excess energy to the grid. We appreciate Pisgah Energy's expertise and collaboration on this sustainability project," said Brett Houser, EHS Director of AAR Greensboro Fuselage MRO Location.
